The Dixon Police Department is announcing a DUI and driver's license checkpoint operation to be conducted in an effort to reduce impaired driving and enhance public safety. The checkpoint is scheduled for April 5th.
New Traffic Safety Program Kicks Off
This is the second DUI Checkpoint for the Dixon Police Department's new Traffic Safety Program. Aimed at promoting safer roads and decreasing incidents of impaired driving, this program is more than a one-night affair. Over the coming months, residents can expect heightened police enforcement, educational initiatives, and community outreach.
Zero Tolerance for Impaired Driving
With a zero-tolerance policy in place, the focus of the checkpoint will be to identify and apprehend drivers under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The goal is to promote public safety and educate the public on the dangers associated with impaired driving.
Funding and Partnerships
Funding for the checkpoint is provided through a grant from the California Highway Patrol. The City of Dixon is grateful for their partnership in this critical public safety initiative.
To ensure the effectiveness of the operation, the exact location and times will not be disclosed in advance. Members of the media are invited to attend and should RSVP by contacting Madeline Graf at mgraf@cityofdixon.us.
