Dixon Police Department Community Message – Dixon May Fair 2025

The Dixon Police Department would like to wish our entire community and visiting guests a safe and enjoyable experience during the 2025 Dixon May Fair, held May 8–11 at the Dixon Fairgrounds.

As the city welcomes thousands of attendees, we want to remind everyone to expect increased traffic throughout the weekend, particularly in the downtown and fairgrounds area. Drivers should be prepared for road closures associated with the annual May Fair Parade, scheduled for Saturday, May 10, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM in downtown Dixon. Please follow all posted detours and signage. Allow extra time for travel and be patient with traffic changes and congestion. Highway 113 will be closed from 8am-2pm. Side street access onto Highway 113 in the downtown area will close starting at 4 am.

Public Safety Notice:

  1. The Dixon Police Department will be deploying increased patrol staffing during the fair to ensure the safety of all residents and guests.
  2. Motorists are urged to watch for pedestrians, especially in crosswalks and in the vicinity of the fairgrounds.
  3. Please do not drink and drive. DUI enforcement will be active and highly visible throughout the weekend.
  4. Remember: if you see something, say something. We encourage fairgoers to report any suspicious activity to on-site officers or by calling our non-emergency line (707) 678-7080.

This annual event is a cherished Dixon tradition and a celebration of our agricultural roots and community pride. Let's all work together to keep it fun, safe, and family-friendly.

For traffic alerts and public safety updates during the fair, follow the City of Dixon and Dixon Police Department social media accounts.

Have a great time and stay safe!
