Dixon City Council Adopts New City Hall Schedule

At its meeting on November 18, 2025, the Dixon City Council adopted Resolution 25-181, establishing new public hours of operation for City Hall. The updated schedule, which takes effect December 15, 2025, is designed to provide greater flexibility and improved customer service for residents and businesses while promoting a positive, sustainable work environment for City employees.

Beginning December 15, City Hall’s public hours will be:

  • Monday through Thursday: 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
  • Every other Friday: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

City Hall will be closed every other Friday, with the first closure occurring on December 26, 2025. The new hours extend public access by opening earlier and closing later Monday through Thursday, offering more opportunities to conduct City business outside traditional schedules.

Residents can submit permit applications, pay utility bills, sign up for recreation classes and access many of our services 24/7 online: www.cityofdixonca.gov

City leaders note that aligning City Hall with this schedule will improve work-life balance, reduce burnout, and increase job satisfaction for employees. A well-supported workforce contributes to stronger morale, better staff retention, and more consistent, responsive service to the public.

Many surrounding cities in the Solano and Sacramento regions have adopted similar schedules in recent years, reporting positive outcomes for both employees and the communities they serve.
