The City of Dixon invites residents to grab a blanket and head to Hall Park this fall for Movies in the Park, a free outdoor film series running Saturday evenings from Sept. 12 through Oct. 3.

Screenings take place in the amphitheater at Hall Park, located directly behind City Hall at 600 East A St. All movies begin at dusk, approximately 7:30 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets, chairs and snacks.

This year’s lineup features four family-friendly films, which were selected based on community votes from social media polling:

  • Saturday, Sept. 12: “Hoppers”
  • Saturday, Sept. 19: “Zootopia 2”
  • Saturday, Sept. 26: “The Super Mario Galaxy Movie”
  • Saturday, Oct. 3: “Toy Story 5”

“There’s something about a movie under the stars, surrounded by your neighbors and their families, that’s hard to beat,” said Recreation Manager Austin George. “It’s easily one of our favorite events of the year, and thanks to our sponsors we get to bring it back and keep it free.”

The series is made possible through the support of local businesses and community organizations. The City extends its thanks to Johnson Group, Almond Tree Mortgage and White Brenner LLP, along with Harvest at Dixon, Dixon Rotary, Lambtown Festival, Dixon Youth Football & Cheer, Dixon Firefighters Charitable Fund and Castillo’s Legal Services.

Sponsorship support allows the City to offer all four events free of charge.
