Building Inspection Information

Inspection Days/Times

All inspections are conducted Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM. There are no inspections on Fridays or on city observed holidays.

How to Request Inspection 

To request an inspection for an ongoing city permitted project, please make your request through the Dixon Civic Access Portal:

1. Locate the Request Inspection button and click.
2. Select the inspection that you desire and enter the Request Inspection button at the top left of the screen.
3. Select the desired date and enter any other notes in the field provided.
4. Click Submit.
5. The green checkmark confirms your request.

Note: The cut-off for online requests is 3:00 pm the day prior to your desired inspection

If you cannot make an appointment through the Dixon Civic Access Portal please call and leave a message on the Building Inspection Request Line (707) 678-7005 (opt 1) by 3:00pm for automatic next day inspection, except for Fridays. Requests made after 3 pm on Wednesday will be scheduled for the following Monday or will roll over to the next business day if Monday is a holiday. Inspections may only be requested 24 hours in advance.

When you leave an inspection request, please speak slowly and clearly and provide:

1. Permit number
2. Job site address
3. Requested inspection type
4. Contact name
5. Phone number
