City Council

The City Council is comprised of a directly elected Mayor and four (4) district elected City Council members. The Mayor and Council Members are elected for a four (4) year term. The City Council is the policy making legislative body of the City of Dixon. The City Council acts upon all legislative matters concerning the City, approving and adopting ordinances, resolutions and other matters requiring overall policy decisions and leadership.

City Manager

The City of Dixon has a Community Support Fund Donation Request Form. A portion of funds received from the digital billboard is set-aside annually to support community events. In the past, the Council has chosen to earmark such requests as Rotary's 4th of July fireworks, Dixon's Lambtown and the annual Scottish Highland games.

In an effort to keep residents up to date with current City News, the City Manager's update will provide info on status of City projects and other general news.

Transit

The Dixon Readi-Ride is a public dial-a-ride transit system, which provides curb-to curb transit service within Dixon city limits. Readi-Ride is a part of our Public Works Department.

Utilities

The City of Dixon owns and operates majority of the utility infrastructure within the City of Dixon. The Utility Divisions consist of Water Operations Division, Collections Division and Wastewater Treatment Facility all of which these Division are partnered with Engineering staff to form the Department of Engineering/Utilities.

The City of Dixon, owns and operates the municipal water system and became an Urban Water Purveyor servicing over 10,000 residences in 2021. The Water Operations Division strives to provide clean, safe reliable water to all its customers.
